Hoping for Rain

Humph. It's raining. I don't like the rain.
Hmm, why not?
I always feel sad when it rains...
I've always liked the rain. It's refreshing and calming somehow.
... Hey, promise me something?
Sure.
Come to me when it rains.
[smiles] Of course.

Years have passed and even though I know he's gone, I still find myself hoping for rain.

That was just a little story I was thinking of while working on this piece.

This is a little different from my usual style, but I recently rented 5 Centimeters Per Second and found Makoto Shinkai's work incredibly inspiring. The film was down right beautiful, even though it was a sad story overall. But let's face it, those are the types of stories I like the most.

Hence, this piece is a small homage to that great film. I hope that in a small way, it captured the spirit of Makoto Shinkai's work.
